The Ephesians Prayer (Ephesians 3: 14-19)

How great, how high, how long
How deep and wide
How faithful, pure and strong
Is the love of Christ!

  1. Father in heaven
    Light of all below
    Strengthen our hearts again
    With the power to know

  2. Bring us near the cross
    To know Your agony
    Lord, shine your face on us
    So that we might see

  3. Our praise is frail and weak
    What language could express?
    Where are the words to speak
    Of Love so measureless!

Father in heaven For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. (Ephesians 3:14-15)

Light of all below Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. (James 1:17)

Strengthen our hearts again …I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,… (Ephesians 3:16)

With the power to know
…so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp… (Ephesians 3:17-19)

How great, how high, how long
How deep and wide
…how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3:18-19)

How faithful
and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood (Revelation 1:5)

pure No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. (1 John 4:12)

and strong Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm, for love is strong as death, jealousy is fierce as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, the very flame of the Lord. (Song of Songs 8:6)

Is the love of Christ!  
For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised. (2 Corinthians 5:14-15)

Bring us near the cross
To know Your agony
I want to know Christ…and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead (Philippians 3:10a,11)

Lord, shine your face on us
So that we might see
Restore us, O God; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved. (Psalm 80:3)

Our praise is frail and weak
What language could express?
Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! (2 Corinthians 9:15)

Where are the words to speak
Of Love so measureless!
…and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3:19)

Let Me Never Forget (Stronger Than Death)

Let me never forget this Love so divine
In your Body and Blood, in this bread and this wine
Let me never forget the nails in your hands
That you would die for me, I’ll never understand

Your love is sweeter than wine
Your love is better than life
So I’ll sing until my final breath
Your love, O Lord, is stronger than death

Let me never forget how you suffered such loss
Obedient to death, even death on a cross
Let me never forget that you have called me by name
With all that I am, I’ll forever proclaim:

Neither death nor life
Neither depth nor height
Can ever separate me from Your love
Not things present nor to come
And I have only just begun
To know the wonders of Your love

Let me never forget this Love so divine Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13)

In your Body and Blood, in this bread and this wine
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take it; this is my body." Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, and they all drank from it. "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many," (Mark 14:22-24)

Let me never forget the nails in your hands
"Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were,…I will not believe it."…Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. ….Stop doubting and believe." Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!" (John 20:28)

That you would die for me, I’ll never understand
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

Your love is sweeter than wine
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth--for your love is more delightful than wine. (Song of Songs 1:2)

Your love is better than life
Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. (Psalm 63:3)

So I’ll sing until my final breath
Your love, O Lord, is stronger than death
Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death… (Song of Songs 8:6)

Let me never forget how you suffered such loss
Obedient to death, even death on a cross
And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death--even death on a cross! (Philippians 2:8)

Let me never forget that you have called me by name
…Before I was born the LORD called me; from my birth he has made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1b)

With all that I am, I’ll forever proclaim: Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. (Colossians 4:2-4)

Neither death nor life
Neither depth nor height
Can ever separate me from Your love
Not things present nor to come
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written,“For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (John 8: 35-39)

And I have only just begun
To know the wonders of Your love
“I have loved you with an everlasting love” (Jeremiah 31:3) / …and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3:19)

No other fire but Yours, Lord
Melts away my confusion and pride
…though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. (1 Peter 1:6b-7)

I will have
No other gods before You
You shall have no other gods before me. (Exodus 20:3)

No other hope beside You Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. (Psalm 62:5)

No other love beyond You Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. (Deuteronomy 6:5)

No other name but Jesus (2x)
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)

No other hope but You, Lord …you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. (Psalm 25:5)

All my crowns, I cast aside
They lay their crowns before the throne and say: You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power… (Revelation 4:10b-11a)

No other love like Yours, Lord
You took my place
When you suffered and died
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. (1 John 3:16)
