I Will Trust in You

CHORUS
I will trust in You (2x)
Here I lay my burdens down
Because Your Word is true
I will trust in You

  1. When the waters are deep
When I walk through the darkest valley
When I don't know what to do
Lord, my eyes are on You

  2. When I don't understand
And even when my heart is breaking
When I don't know what to do
Lord, my eyes are on You

  3. Those who wait for You, Lord
They will never be put to shame
When I don't know what to do
Lord, my eyes are on You

Because You shed Your blood
I know that I am loved
I see Your nail pierced hands
You hold the greater plan
So where else would I go?
You are my only hope
O Lord, I trust in You

When the waters are deep But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.  For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. (Isaiah 43:1-3)

When I walk through the darkest valley Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4)

When I don't know what to do
Lord, my eyes are on You
O our God...We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” (2 Chronicles 20:12)

When I don't understand For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9)

And even when my heart is breaking When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. (Psalm 34:17-19)

When I don't know what to do
Lord, my eyes are on You
O our God...We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” (2 Chronicles 20:12)

I will trust in You
I will trust in You When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me? (Psalm 56:3-4) / ...men of blood and treachery shall not live out half their days. But I will trust in you. (Psalm 54:23) / You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. (Isaiah 26:3-4) / Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. (Psalm 37:5)

Here I lay my burdens down Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. (Psalm 55:22) / Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30) / Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:6-7) / Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. (Philippians 4:6)

Because Your Word is true Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. (John 17:17) / Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. (Proverbs 30:5) / ...the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel (Colossians 1:5) / So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. (Romans 10:17) / So Jesus said..., “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32)

I will trust in You Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. (Psalm 143:8) / He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” (Psalm 91:1-2)

Those who wait for You, Lord Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! (Psalm 27:14) / But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31) / I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope (Psalm 130:5)

They will never be put to shame To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. O my God, in you I trust; let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me. Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame; they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous. (Psalm 25:1-3) /  "...Then you will know that I am the Lord; those who wait for me shall not be put to shame." (Isaiah 49:23) /

When I don't know what to do
Lord, my eyes are on You
O our God...We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” (2 Chronicles 20:12)

Because You shed Your blood
I know that I am loved
In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. (1 John 4:10) / For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) / but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) /  I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

I see Your nail pierced hands
You hold the greater plan
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11) / Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me. (John 14:1) / And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28) /And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. (Isaiah 58:11) / Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. (Proverbs 19:21)

So where else would I go? Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.” (John 6:67-69)

You are my only hope The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe. (Proverbs 29:25)

O Lord, I trust in You Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

How Great is Your Kindness

Worthy, our newborn King
Worthy to be adored
God in an infant’s helplessness
Who makes the oceans roar

Worthy of fear and awe
You set the stars above
Worthy, O Child of Bethlehem
Worthy of all my love

How great is Your kindness, Lord
You left Your eternal throne
For such a worm as I
You came to give Your life

BRIDGE
Blessing and honor
Glory and power
Wisdom and wealth and strength
To You forever
God in a manger
Worthy of praise and thanks

Worthy, our newborn King ...wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” (Matthew 2:1-2)

Worthy to be adored When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh. (Matthew 2:10-11)

God in an infant’s helplessness And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.” And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?” And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God. (Luke 1:30-35)

Who makes the oceans roar O Lord God of hosts, who is mighty as you are, O Lord, with your faithfulness all around you? You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them. (Psalm 89:8-9)

Worthy of fear and awe Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him! (Psalm 33:8)

You set the stars above I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place (Psalm 8:3)

Worthy, O Child of Bethlehem “‘And you, O Bethlehem...from you shall come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.’” (Matthew 2:6)

Worthy of all my love You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. (Deuteronomy 6:5) / In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. (1 Peter 1:6-9)

How great is Your kindness, Lord ...the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:7) / But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy (Titus 3:4-5)

You left Your eternal throne For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. (John 6:38-40)

For such a worm as I Fear not, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel! I am the one who helps you, declares the Lord; your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel. (Isaiah 41:14) / How then can man be in the right before God? How can he who is born of woman be pure? Behold, even the moon is not bright, and the stars are not pure in his eyes; how much less man, who is a maggot, and the son of man, who is a worm (Job 25:4-6)

You came to give Your life ...So there will be one flock, one shepherd. For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.” (John 10:16-18) / ...the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28 & Mark 10:45)

Blessing and honor
Glory and power
Wisdom and wealth and strength
To You forever
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!” (Revelation 5:12) / “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.” (Revelation 7:12)

God in a manger For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” (Luke 2:12)

Worthy of praise and thanks I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised... (2 Samuel 22:4) / It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High (Psalm 92:1) / Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name. (Psalm 30:4)

For Our God Spared Not the Angels

  1. For our God spared not the angels
When they sinned and fell astray,
Bound for hell and chains of darkness
To their doom on Judgment Day
    There the fire is everlasting
And the worm will never die
There the smoke goes up forever
From their torment, day and night

  2. Fear not them who kill the body
But can never kill the soul
Fear the One who can destroy you
Soul and body both in hell
In a lake of fire and weeping
Where the cursed have sealed their fate
    Beyond all imagination
    Vengeance from the Lord awaits

  3. We were dead in our transgressions
Children of the wrath of God
But the Father, rich in mercy
Gave His Son to shed His blood
Praise the God of our salvation
For His love which took our place
    Sinner, tremble and adore Him
Who has saved you by His grace

For our God spared not the angels
When they sinned and fell astray,
Bound for hell and chains of darkness
To their doom on Judgment Day
For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment... (2 Peter 2:4)

There the fire is everlasting “Then he will say... ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. (Matthew 25:41)

And the worm will never die And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, ‘where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’ (Mark 9:47-48)

There the smoke goes up forever
From their torment, day and night
...the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night. (Revelation 14:11)

Fear not them who kill the body
But can never kill the soul
Fear the One who can destroy you
Soul and body both in hell
...do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28, also in Luke 12:4-5)

In a lake of fire ...if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15)

and weeping So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Matthew 13:49-50)

Where the cursed have sealed their fate Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord. (Jeremiah 17:5)

Beyond all imagination
Vengeance from the Lord awaits
For the Lord has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the cause of Zion. (Isaiah 34:8) / ...when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed (2 Thessalonians 1: 7-10)

We were dead in our transgressions And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, (Ephesians 2:1-3a)

Children of the wrath of God ...and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind (Ephesians 2:3b)

But the Father, rich in mercy But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved (Ephesians 2:4-5)

Gave His Son to shed His blood Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt...Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied...[and] make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities...he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors. (Isaiah 53:10-12)

Praise the God of our salvation Our God is a God of salvation, and to God, the Lord, belong deliverances from death. (Psalm 68:20)

For His love which took our place Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. (2 Peter 2:21-25)

Sinner, tremble and adore Him The Lord reigns; let the peoples tremble! He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake! The Lord is great in Zion; he is exalted over all the peoples. Let them praise your great and awesome name! Holy is he! (Psalm 99:1-3)

Who has saved you by His grace [He] saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel (2 Timothy 1:9-10) / ...by grace you have been saved (Ephesians 2:5)
