Congregational Hymns
My Savior's Love is Greater Still - Probably our most used hymn, which is essentially a theological reflection on “Jesus Loves Me.”
O Teach My Heart to Love Your Word - Works well before or after a sermon.
There Is a Place - A hymn of longing for our true home. “Earthly trials cannot compare / With the weight of glory there.”
Alleluia to the Father - A joyful hymn to our Triune God, telling the great salvation story from creation, the Fall in the garden, the Cross of Jesus and at last the saints gathered around the throne with the Lord forever.
You Surrendered All - Turning the focus of a beloved hymn away from our imperfect surrender to behold the perfect surrender of our unfailing Savior.
Arise My Soul - A hymn of trust and courage.
You are Glorious - A Trinitarian hymn drawn from the Word of God and ancient liturgies.
Angels and Archangels Sing - A hymn on the life and work of Christ covering the Incarnation (Christmas), Crucifixion, Resurrection ending with a Triune Doxology and prayer for greater devotion. (A similar hymn listed below is “What Love is This?”)
In Every Language - A hymn to remind ourselves that one day every tongue from every nation in every generation that has ever lived will lift their voices together in grateful praise to the One who made all things.
For Our God Spared Not the Angels (2 Peter 2:4) - An unusual hymn on the breathtaking reality of hell and the gift of our great salvation.
What Love is This? - Another hymn (like “Angels and Archangels Sing”) on the life and work of Christ with a deeply personal look at the Incarnation (Christmas), Crucifixion and Resurrection that made possible the joy that awaits us in Heaven where we will be with the Lord forever.
Baptism Song
Communion / Eucharist Congregational Hymns and Worship Songs (Songs of the Cross)
While We Were Yet Sinners (Communion Hymn) - Romans 5:8
This Is Eternal Life (John 17:3; 6:51 / Matthew 26:28 / 1 Corinthians 11:26)
Let Me Never Forget (Stronger Than Death) - Connecting verses from the Psalms, the Song of Solomon and Philippians with the Cross and everlasting life.
Remember (1 Corinthians 11:23-26) - The lyrics are tightly tied to the New Testament texts that are probably the most often read verses during almost every Communion / Eucharist / Lord’s Supper service throughout church history and will be until He comes.
On the Cross - Inspired by a beloved hymn from Kerala, India (translated by Abe’s father) and often sung during Holy Communion.
In the Arms of Christ - “Here is death to human pride: / This precious blood, this tree of life / In the weakness of a cross, the power of God.”
Throned Upon the Awful Tree - A re-tuned hymn on the Crucifixion.
My Lord Was Crucified - MAY WORK BEST AS A SOLO / DUET (A heartfelt remembrance from the holy Scriptures of our Savior’s Crucifixion).
You are the One I Love - MAY WORK BEST AS A SOLO / DUET (Remembering the suffering Jesus endured for us on the Cross and the love we have for Him because He first loved us).
Advent / Christmas
O Dark and Wondrous Night - One of our favorite hymns connecting John 3:16 and the wonder of the Incarnation.
Angels and Archangels Sing - A hymn on the life and work of Christ covering the Incarnation (Christmas), Crucifixion, Resurrection ending with a Triune Doxology and prayer for greater devotion.
How Great is Your Kindness - An Advent/Christmas worship song connecting the Incarnation with the inexpressible and uncreated glory of God described in hymns found in the Book of Revelation.
Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9) - Many centuries before the first Christmas, the prophet Isaiah, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, foretold of a Saviour who was yet to come.
Call to Worship
In the Name of God Our Father - A Triune call to worship that works well as an opening song.
Always and Everywhere - “We have come to bless Your name / For You are worthy to be praised / Bid our anxious fears away…”
From the East and the West (Psalm 107) - His love endures forever.
Christ Has Died, Christ Is Risen - A joyful acclamation of the gospel drawn from ancient liturgies and most importantly, the Word that will never fail.
Worship Songs
I Call Upon the Lord (Psalm 18) ”…who is worthy to be praised!” - We love the chorus written from this Psalm.
Uncreated God (King of Love)
I Am The One Whom Jesus Loves - This song is a reminder that we who belong to Jesus have something that can never be taken from us. We can lose our money, our job, our spouse, our children, our health, and even our memories if our minds fail us. In the book of John (John 13:23; 19:26; 20:2; 21:7, 20), Jesus’ disciple chose to refer to himself not by name but over and over as “the one Jesus loved.”
May Jesus Christ Be Praised - A high-energy re-tuned hymn.
Worthy is the Lamb - Inspired by the awe-inspiring worship we find in the Book Of Revelation.
No Other - This song of repentance and recommitment inspired by Exodus 20:3 (“You shall have no other gods before Me.”) and a key verse in Abe’s return to the Christian faith - “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
I Will Trust in You - A song of hope in times of trials and suffering.
The Ephesians Prayer - Inspired by the Apostle Paul’s letter (Ephesians 3: 14-19) who wanted the Ephesians (and us!) to understand that God's love is ultimately beyond our understanding.
Worthy of More (King of all Kings) - A song about how we could never say enough about the One who is without beginning or end, and is both the source and fulfillment of all that is True and Good and Beautiful.
You are Beautiful - A heartfelt song of repentance, renewal and devotion.
Holy Spirit of God (Nicene Creed) - The glory and attributes of the Third Person of the Godhead.
Grace - But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace. (Romans 11:6) “All my affection and all my devotion / All I have given and all I’ve forsaken / All my good works / Could never be good enough”
Children’s Choir
God’s Words from A to Z - The songs on this album have been used in Christian schools, Sunday Schools and in families to memorize and meditate on 26 essential verses. A YouTube version with animation can be found here.
God is Good - this simple song (not just for kids!) teaches one-word attributes of God drawn straight from the Scriptures with the chorus emphasizing that He is both One and Triune.
Praise Him in the Heights (Psalm 148)
He Tends His Flock (Isaiah 40:11)
Godliness with Contentment (1 Timothy 6:6-8)
Forever (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
Some of our Psalm settings may also be enjoyable and helpful for kids to learn and share: 1, 18, 24, 107, 113, 139, 117, 145, 148 which you can find here.
Songs of Heaven
There Is a Place - A hymn of longing for our true home.
One Day -”Because He bled and died / Heaven is opened wide / We come with empty hands / Worthy is the Lamb!”
This is How the Story Ends - We do not know all that the future holds, but it is enough to know the One who holds the future in His hands.
Ten Thousand Years from Now - Everything looks different in the light of eternity.
Just To Behold His Face - A loving tribute and re-tuned version of a staggeringly beautiful set of lyrics we found in the African-American Heritage Hymnal #584 written by Derrick Johnson.
Congregational Scripture Songs
A joyful and meaningful way for a congregation to sing and memorize the Word together.
May the Lord Bless You (Benediction Song) Numbers 6:24-26
Peace (John 14:27) - A beautiful ending to a service or for a time of reflection.
All Things (Romans 8:32) - Right after John 3:16, this is one of the most precious Bible verses to commit to memory.
Return (Joel 2:12-13) - A song of repentance from the minor prophets: “He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in love.” These words are woven like a golden thread throughout the Old Testament in the following verses: Exodus 34:6; Numbers 14:18; Nehemiah 9:17; Psalm 86:15; 103:8; 145:8; Jonah 4:2; Nahum 1:3 and, of course, Joel 2:13.

Traditional Hymns (with new melodies or arrangements)

Lead Me to Calvary
I Lay My Sins on Jesus
Hallelujah, What a Savior! (Man of Sorrows)
Praise the Savior, You Who Know Him
Jesus, Thy Blood and Righteousness (new melody) - This melody might work best as a duet (or choir parts) with alternating lines and harmony due to the short amount of time between each line.
Jesus, I Come to You (new melody)
Praise, My Soul, The King of Heaven
My Faith Has Found a Resting Place
My Hope is Built on Nothing Less (new arrangement and chorus)
Psalms
